Senator Pam Roach chaired the Senate Law and Justice (Judiciary) Committee from 1997-1998. As chair Senator Roach led the successful effort to bring .08 to Washington State. As an original member of the Governor’s Juvenile Justice Taskforce Senator Roach was the Senate prime sponsor on the landmark Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 1997.

Senator Roach has supported legislation to keep sex predators out of our neighborhoods to protect our families. She prime sponsored the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification System (SAVIN) which allows crime victims to obtain 24 hour status on offender’s custody. In 2008 Senator Roach supported legislation to keep pornography out of prisons. As a current member of the Governor’s Council on Substance Abuse, she has been a leader in cracking down on meth crimes. She is a supporter of the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms which enables law abiding citizens to protect themselves against violent criminals. She understands police cannot be everywhere.

The Evergreen Freedom Foundation ranked Senator Roach as the number one Senator in promoting open government. She was named the Washington State Council of Police Officers Legislator of the Year in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999 as well as the 1995 Senate Republican of the Year. “Mothers Against Drunk Driving” recognized her legislative efforts in 1997. She chaired the Senate Children & Family Services Committee from 1991-1992 and the Senate Government Operations and Elections Committee from 2003-2004.

Pam and her husband, Jim, live on a small farm in rural Auburn. They have five children and thirteen grandchildren.
